Accept Payments lets you charge a client while they are waiting in your queue or while you are in a call with them. The money goes to your own account, not to us, and it has nothing to do with what you pay for HIPAA LINK, which is Your invoices.

Connect an account

Payments run through Stripe, and the account is yours. You create it during the connect flow or sign in to one you already have.

  1. Open Account Settings › Accept Payments.
  2. Select Connect.
  3. Complete the sign-up, which asks for your business and bank details.

The panel then shows Connected. Pending means your details are still being checked, which can take a day, and nothing can be charged until that clears.

What you are signing up to, as the panel states it:

  • Accept all major credit and debit cards
  • Receive funds in 2-3 business days
  • Fee of 2.9% + 30 cents per online transaction

Charge a client

Payment sits in the dot menu in two places, and both need the account connected:

  • On a client’s row in your Client Queue, before the call.
  • On a participant in a call, from the same dot menu you use to mute or remove them.
  1. Open the dot menu and select Payment.
  2. Enter the Amount (USD), which must be more than zero.
  3. Select Request payment.

The client pays on their own screen, on their own device, and you wait: Waiting for Hannah Whitfield to complete the payment.

Who can charge

Connecting the account is one permission and using it is another. A clinic admin grants the second per person, from Staff: open the dot menu on somebody’s row and select Allow Payments. Disable Payments takes it back.

Without it, Payment does not appear in either dot menu, which is the usual reason somebody cannot find it.

What to know

  • In a shared room you must claim the client first. Payment is hidden on an unclaimed row, because an unclaimed client is nobody’s to charge.
  • A client who has lost their connection cannot be charged, and the menu item is greyed out until they are back.
  • Disconnect stops it. You are asked first: Do you want to disconnect this payment method?
  • Taking payments is a paid plan feature.
