How can we help?

The free fax plan

Starter costs nothing and is switched on from the card on the fax page. See Set up fax.

It is not a smaller version of the paid fax page. It is a different page.

The fax page on the free plan. A card at the top reads zero of thirty pages sent this month with a reset date on the right, a full width bar beneath it, and thirty pages remaining below that. Under the card sits a fax machine icon, a Send New Fax button, and a line saying fax delivery is not tracked on the free plan.
The whole page. A usage meter, one button, and a warning that nothing is tracked.

What you get

Thirty outbound pages a month, on a number shared with other clinics. The allowance resets at the start of each month and the card tells you when: Resets October 31.

The bar shows what is left, not what is used, so a full bar means you have sent nothing. At zero of thirty it is full.

What you do not get

That is the difference that matters most. On a paid plan every fax has a status you can watch, and a record afterwards. Here there is neither: no sent list, no delivery confirmation, and no way to tell afterwards whether a fax arrived. The app says the same thing again once a fax goes: Free plan faxes are not tracked — contact your recipient to confirm receipt.

If a fax has to be confirmed, confirm it yourself by telephone, or use a paid plan.

There is also no inbox. The number is shared, so nothing can be received on it. Receiving needs a number of your own, which is what the paid plans add. See Receive a fax.

What to know

  • The pages are outbound only. On a paid plan the monthly limit counts sent and received pages together, because there are both.
  • Send New Fax opens the same Send Fax dialog as a paid plan. See Send a fax.
  • Moving up is a checkout, and the plan changes as soon as it is paid for, though a dedicated number takes longer to arrive. See Set up fax.
