Join from your phone
The same link works on a phone. There is an app, and you do not have to use it.
Open the link your provider sent, in the browser that opens it. It works the same way it does on a computer.
The app is optional
On a phone you may see a panel offering the HIPAA LINK for Clients app from the App Store or Google Play. That is the name to search for if you go looking for it yourself, since it is the client app rather than the one providers use.
You can take it, or select Continue in browser and carry on exactly where you were. Nothing is lost either way, and the app is not needed to attend an appointment.
While you wait
Keep the page open and your phone unlocked. A phone that locks itself can drop you out of the queue, and you would need to open the link and check in again.
Turning the screen brightness up and closing other apps both help the video stay smooth.
What to know
- Hold the phone in landscape, turned sideways, for a larger picture of your provider.
- Your phone asks for permission to use the camera and the microphone the first time. If you said no, see Allow your camera and microphone.
- Mobile data works, but wifi is steadier.
