How can we help?

Allow your camera and microphone

Your browser asks for permission the first time. If you said no, or were never asked, here is how to turn it back on.

Your browser, not your provider, controls the camera and microphone. The first time you join, it asks you once. If you said no, it remembers, and it will not ask again.

Nobody can see or hear you until you say yes.

On a computer

  1. Find the small icon at the left of the address bar, beside the web address.
  2. Select it.
  3. Turn the camera and the microphone on.
  4. Reload the page.

On an iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings, then Safari.
  2. Select Camera, then Allow. Do the same for Microphone.
  3. Go back to the page and reload it.

On an Android phone

  1. In Chrome, select the icon at the left of the address bar.
  2. Select Permissions.
  3. Turn the camera and the microphone on.
  4. Reload the page.

What to know

  • Another app may be holding the camera. Close any other video call, then reload the page.
  • Headphones are worth using if you can. They stop your provider’s voice being picked up by your microphone and echoing back.
  • You can check both before your appointment with Test Your Connection on the waiting room page.
